Our Mission

Our world is as divided as it has ever been.

Turn on the news, or open a newspaper.  It won’t take long for you to see it; we live in a world that is defined by division.

Our neighborhoods and dinner tables, our political parties and public school.  Anywhere people gather together, that environment will soon begin to organize itself by one of the primary laws of nature: Birds of a feather flock together.

It happens in the board room, the chat room, the dining room, and sometimes, even our houses of worship.  We all try to find our tribe and protect “our own".  And while this way of living might work in the wilderness, when it is practiced by human beings the devastation is impossible to ignore:  We lash out.   We oppress. We hoard. We hate. We sin.

But at City Fellowship, we believe that it doesn’t have to be this way!

We believe that Jesus Christ came to heal us.  To heal all of our sinful, broken relationships and to reconcile us fully, both to God and to one another, to make a family where once there were enemies.  That’s what we believe the church is supposed to be: an uncommon family, bound together by faith in Christ, and reflecting all the beautiful diversity that makes us who we are.

We believe there is another way to walk through this divided world.  Let’s walk it together.
